La primera vez que escuche hablar de Stellent me comentaron “es un Gestor de Contenidos que ha comprado Oracle”…
Tan solo una pequeña visita a la consola del producto es necesaria para descubrir que más que un gestor de contenidos, UCM es un gestor documental, que siguiendo la línea de sus competidores se ha convertido además de un gestor de contenidos para sitios Web (Web Content Management System).
Y la verdad, en mi opinión, no lo han hecho nada mal; Site Studio (Herramienta para la creación de Sitios Web) permite crear portales de forma sencilla, modular y aprovechando las características del núcleo de UCM (Content Server) para compartir los documentos que alberga.
UCM esta formado por un núcleo (Content Server) y una serie de componentes y módulos que permiten gestionar todas las fases del ciclo de vida de un contenido(o documento).
Los componentes permiten tanto personalizar UCM como añadir funcionalidad y pueden ser habilitados y deshabilitados con un solo clic.
Sorprende la sencillez de uso de las herramientas para publicación de contenido que permiten hacerlo de forma automática cuando, por ejemplo, un contenido cumple una condición.
